The MV Isle of Arran has taken over from the island’s regular ferry after the MV Caledonian Isles crashed into the pier in Ardrossan on Tuesday night, February 14 2012.
The Isle of Arran arrived in Ardrossan from Campbeltown on Wednesday night, February 15, more than 24 hours after the incident that damaged the other vessel.
She carried out a late-night crossing to Brodick at 9.15pm carrying only commercial vehicles and returned to Ardrossan at almost midnight.
At the 7am sailing on Thursday morning, February 16 most of the backlog of cars was cleared although there were a number of vehicles left behind. The service was running about half an hour late.
