Members of the Arran Riding for Disabled are celebrating this week after winning a national photography competition.
Local people who attend the group at Oakbank Farm in Lamlash featured in a selection of photographs that were highly commended by judges in the RDA’s annual competition.
Every year the RDA holds a photographic competition to raise the profile of the organisation and help extend their library of internal and external publications.
A spokesman for the charity said: ‘We regularly contribute to disability, research and national equestrian publications and these photographs are ideal for us to use.’
The competition is open to everyone.
Volunteers, riders and drivers from all over the country all take part and outside the organisation the charity encourage professional photographers and students to get snapping.
The Arran RDA picture titled ‘Yippee! I passed grade one’ featuring Sarah Thomson and Bethany Griffit won first prize in category two of the competition.
The group received £100 for this winning picture.
In the same class, ‘Mark combs Tabitha’s tail’ which features Mark Tinto won third prize.
