The luxury cruise ship Hebridean Princess may be the romantic setting for a royal honeymoon this summer.
Two one-week cruises in July have just been cancelled by the owners, All Leisure Group, who bought the vessel for £1.4million last April after the previous owners went into administration.
A spokesman for All Leisure Group is quoted as saying that they have a special private charter and have had to move passengers to other cruises.
Lisa White, reservations manager for Hebridean Island Cruises, a trading name of All Leisure Holidays, said: ‘I have to advise you that due to a special charter we have had to cancel a couple of cruises.’ The company is offering an alternative cruise commencing in Oban on July 6 for nine nights.
According to Travel Weekly and Cruise Critic magazines, the duration of the special charter, the timing and the late booking all indicate a royal event.
