The Millport survey vessel RV Aora will be on duty in Lamlash Bay for almost a fortnight, from Wednesday July 1 to Sunday July 12.
Marine Scotland and Scottish Natural Heritage have chartered the ship to continue baseline scientific research into the No Take Zone and surrounding area.
It will be conducting scallop monitoring using drop down pyramid cages and possibly towing other equipment.
Howard Wood of the Community of Arran Seabed Trust (COAST) said: ‘As the Aora looks like a large fishing boat to those who do not recognise the vessel from previous occasions COAST would welcome the Banner to publicise what is going on.
‘We also hope over the next seven days to be attaching the official signs in four places around the Bay.
‘This should make it easier for both visitors and locals to identify the area and what can and can’t be done within it. If you would like any more information, please phone me on 700466.’
