Ferry operator Caledonian MacBrayne announced its latest fare increases on Tuesday which will come into place on the Brodick to Ardrossan route at the end of March next year
The 3.8 percent increase on ticket prices will come into effect with next year’s summer timetable.
Lawrie Sinclair, managing director of CalMac Ferries Ltd said: ‘We are delighted to have been able to set the increase at a below-inflation rate as it will allow us to limit fare increases at a time when the economic pressure on individuals, companies and especially transport operators, have rarely been greater.’
Arran’s winter timetable will begin operating on Sunday October 19 with the only changes being that the late night ferry on a Friday will end and the prices will go down.
A single saver ticket for passengers is reduced by more than £1 to £4.05 and a five-day return will cost £7.40 during the winter.
A five-day return for a car will cost £45.50 during the winter, almost £10 cheaper than the cost in the summer.
