Shiskine SWRI’s longest serving active member has been honoured at a special celebration.
Elise Bannatyne, aged 89, joined the SWRI in 1939 and her long service was recognised at a special reception for her in Shiskine Golf and Tennis Club tearoom on Wednesday June 18.
Shiskine SWRI president Joan Stewart presented Elise with a badge confirming her as the honorary president of the branch. Elise also received chocolates and a beautiful mixed bouquet.
A special fruit cake was baked for the occasion and iced by Phil Judge at Kinloch Bakery. Members also enjoyed a finger buffet and wine.
Elise told the Banner she hated to be housebound and liked to keep active.
