Team captain Murray Picken said: ‘We won three out of our four games, beating Loch Lomond A and B teams and Helensburgh B.

‘Our only loss was to the Helensburgh A team. We took a team of seven and picked up two Arran lads from Glasgow.

‘With a few knocks and injuries we lost three of our guys and had to borrow a Loch Lomond player for the final but that’s the nature of sevens rugby.

‘We weren’t expecting anything so to win some silverware was a great bonus to the end of our season.’
