Hotel room keyring lights helped three walkers to see their way down Goatfell in the dark last week.
The two men and one woman had gone up the mountain at lunchtime despite being warned by their hotelier not to attempt the climb that day.
They were assisted to safety during the evening by members of Arran Mountain Rescue Team.
An AMRT spokesman told the Banner: ‘They left from Corrie quite late, about 12.30pm, and went up the hill. There was no actual call-out, but as darkness fell some lights were seen on the hill.
‘Three members of the team went out and met the group on the way down. One had a torch and two were using lights on keyrings.’
The Brodick hotelier confirmed that the three, one of whom was from Singapore and two from London, had been using their hotel keyrings with lights on to help them down.
‘They crept back in about 10pm and we didn’t hear much from them,’ she added.
