Last week Murphy was taking a rest on a large rock, half way up a new forestry walk opened to the public in 2006.
The walk starts at North Sannox car park down by the beach and takes a number of different routes up through the forest. The craggy peak of Cioch na h-Oighe can be seen looming in the far background to the south-west.
First correct answer by email came from regular contributor Iain Hendry at 9.52am on Friday. He was closely followed by angel2k10 on the Banner website who said: ‘Well, that’s Cioch na h-Oighe behind young Murph so he’s in Sannox this week, up towards the Bouguille.’
JohnB, also on the Banner website, thought incorrectly that Murphy was ‘in Glen Sannox, just past the graveyard where Edwin Rose is buried.’
He also accused Murphy of cheating! JohnB pointed out that the bracken was green and leaves were on the trees so he must have been up there last summer.
In reply, Murphy says: ‘OK, it’s a fair cop, I admit that the weather was so inclement that my person refused to move from the fireside and looked out a photo from one of our walks last summer.’
Furthest away guess this week came via email from Thierry Blanchard of 4 rue Pierre Ache, Vannes, France who said: ‘I think Murphy is next to the ruins of the old Barytes mines at the beginning of Glen Sannox track.’
This week Murphy is sitting on a bench enjoying the sunshine with a playpark in the background. Where do you think he is?
