Cash boost for Kenya-bound Kirsty
Published:  14 March, 2008

Kirsty MacBain of Whiting Bay has reached her target for a trip to work with lions and elephants in Kenya.

After a sponsored treasure hunt two weeks ago, Kirsty and friends held a bagpack in Brodick Co-op last Saturday. They were helping shoppers to pack their shopping into carrier bags and one grateful shopper felt that they should do it every week. Kirsty said: ‘We raised an amazing amount of £665. That’s me with all the funds I need for this voluntary community project in Kenya. I am so grateful to all those who have helped me.’

Kirsty MacBain is due to fly out to Africa on June 2.
