Published:  28 February, 2008

Arran man Fionn Patrick is coming back to the Island with his band Outbox.

The band has already had a top 40 hit with their debut single How to Fly in July 2007 and their second single The Science in Me is due for release on Monday, March 24.

Outbox kick off their UK tour with a date at the Cruize Bar, Auchrannie next Friday, March 7 at 9.30pm.

Sharing the bill will be top Scottish DJ Michael Gordon of Northsound 1. Lead guitarist Fionn describes the band’s music as ‘radio-friendly acoustic/pop/rock.’

He started his musical career while at Arran High School and played with local groups Midlife Crisis and The Cheesecake Experience.

Fionn, who lives in Nairn now, is formerly from Bennan at the Southend. He told the Banner: ‘I cut my teeth playing with local musicians Duncan ‘Funky Dunky’ Russell, Robin Fisher and Jimmi Johnson. I left the high school in 1999 but would like to return with Outbox.

‘We would like to play a gig in the magnificent new high school before too long.’

The band has supported Wet, Wet, Wet, played at the London Fashion Week and performed to 30,000 people. A debut album, Millie’s Magical Catnip Dreams, is due out shortly.
