It already looks as though there will be a good attendance at the annual drama festival which runs for four nights next week in the new Arran High School theatre.
Tickets went on sale on Monday morning at the Book and Card Centre in Brodick and before opening time a substantial queue had already developed.
One eager drama-goer said: ‘Having arrived in Brodick early on Monday morning to reserve tickets for this week’s drama festival, it felt like queuing up for T in The Park.
‘I wouldn’t have been surprised to see a few sleeping bags as the Book and Card Centre was jammed with enthusiastic festival goers. Eventually crowd control had to be enforced and the waiting hoardes were issued with tickets to show their position in queue, just like in a Harrods’ sale.’
All the seats are soft this year as the festival moves to the school for the first time, so it just goes to show that drama on the island is as enthusiastically supported as ever.
Remember, if you didn’t manage to camp out on Monday morning, there should be tickets available at the door.
