Stephen is Sannox’s player of the year
Published:  15 February, 2008

Sannox Cricket Club celebrated its annual awards ceremony at the Auchrannie last Saturday with an evening of jokes, presentations, music and memory.

Mark Williams gave the 50 guests a condensed report of the club’s tour to Derby in 2007 to play the Bryan Allsop Memorial Match against Chevin. Club chairman Eric Dunn presented Stephen Mason with the coveted player of the year award.

Stephen then created the funniest and most memorable part of the evening with a hilarious presentation lampooning various club members. Tim Pomeroy provided a musical interlude and the evening ended with club treasurer Jim Gourlay’s quiz.

The raffle raised £200 for club funds at a time when members, planning permission allowing, are about to embark building a pavilion.

Retiring captain Eric Dunn thanked members for his time as team leader and handed over to Chris Marriott, who will captain SCC for the coming season. Indoor cricket practice continues in Auchrannie games hall on Mondays at 7pm for the next five weeks. Newcomers are always welcome. For more information telephone Stephen on 01770 302859 or 302462.
