The opening of Kilmory post office in the village hall has been delayed again because of continuing problems installing the relevant connections.
Scheduled to begin trading at the beginning of February, the opening was initially postponed until Tuesday of this week. But frustrated potential customers have now been told it is hoped the opening date will be Friday, February 29.
Margaret MacKenzie from Kilmory said: ‘I went down to the post office in the hall on Tuesday to collect my pension and I was disappointed to be told that it still hasn’t opened.’
Hall manager Kirstin Napier said she hoped it would be only another week. She said: ‘There have been continuing problems with getting the BT phone lines installed. We are not sure when it will open.’
A Post Office Limited spokeswoman said: ‘After investigating this enquiry, it is now expected the post office will not re-open until Friday, February 29. This is due to circumstances outwith our control.’
