Despite the arctic conditions on Friday evening the floodlights were switched on to let Southend play Northend in a friendly game of football.
The game kicked off at 7pm at the all weather pitch in Brodick. Early evening snow showers had left an inch of snow on the pitch but the game went ahead as planned.
Northend have not won a game in more than 15 years and were defeated once again by a stronger side.
The team from Lochranza managed to keep the score down to 3-2 at half time with goals from John Smith and Alec McMillan.
Nicky Emsley of Whiting Bay secured the Southend victory in the second half with two impressive goals.
Northend have been training throughout the winter on a Friday night on the all-weather pitch.
The players did not say much after the game except that it was very cold.
