Ain’t Misbehavin’ behavin’ brilliantly

Whiting Bay Thursday Club’s meeting last week proved a memorable occasion when a blast o’ January wind blew Hansel in on a newly-formed group.

The planned hour’s entertainment by Ain’t Misbehavin’ was a 28-item programme of songs such as Sing a Rainbow and Happy Days. On Arran we should not be surprised to find very talented entertainers and so our choristers became instrumentalists rendering a musical melange on castanet, cymbal, drum, maraca, guiro and triangle with excellent piano accompaniment.

The programme continued with oldies ranging from Tipperrary, Pack Up Your Troubles to a very touching rendering of We’ll Gather Lilacs.

The musical tide continued to flow and there was a toe-tapping response to I Hear Singing When there’s No One There followed by the Oom Pah Pah song. The afternoon’s show closed with We’ll Meet Again. It was a truly memorable afternoon and this surely will be repeated island-wide. We have not heard the last of this talented group.
