Funding boost for disabled riders
Published:  25 January, 2008

It was a special day for Arran Riding for the Disabled at Oakbank Farm, Lamlash, on Saturday when some new funds came its way.

Maureen Oakes, conductor of the Rowan Singers, presented Arran RDA’s Barbara Tinto with a cheque for £664.24, the proceeds from the singers’ annual Christmas Concert.

To celebrate, ponies Charlie and Fever were brought out for the morning for some gentle exercise as young riders, parents and friends gathered for the presentation.

In presenting the cheque Maureen thanked everyone who supported the concert.

Last year’s was the 27th Christmas Concert staged by the Rowan Singers. Held in Brodick hall, it is always well-attended.

One of the group’s delights is to decorate the stage before going on.
