Last week Murphy had his photo taken by Barry Dobson of Richmond.

He and his wife Michelle were on Arran for Christmas and as Banner subscribers they were delighted to come across the celebrity canine taking the air on Lamlash pier on Boxing Day.

Murphy was more than happy to pose with Michelle while the crazy Boxing Day swimmers jumped off the pier into the icy waters of Lamlash Bay in aid of charity.

Michelle said: ‘We always try to guess where Murphy is and sometimes it takes us all week. This time we will be the first to know.’
