Lochranza and Pirnmill pupils taste cricket
Published:  18 January, 2008

On Tuesday, Lochranza and Pirnmill primary pupils enjoyed a cricket coaching taster session with Sannox Cricket Club.

The club, approached before Christmas by Kirsty Innes, was happy to oblige. Sannox CC, building on its January 2 match, continues to exercise its remit as ambassadors of cricket within the community.

Pupils were given basic ball-handling training, catching and throwing, basic batting as well as a fielding game popular with Sannox’s own members.

The session, run by Tim Pomeroy of SCC, finished up with the ever-popular game of non-stop cricket. Children ranged from nursery school to a couple from S2 and even a couple of the adult helpers joined in the fun.

The second taster session will run from 3.30pm to 4.45pm on Tuesday, January 22.
