Concert for Corrie Primary School
Published:  18 January, 2008

A big concert is being planned as part of the continuing campaign to save Corrie Primary School.

It takes place on Friday 1 February in Corrie and Sannox Hall and as well as a good night’s entertainment the idea is to keep the campaign in the public eye and raising money for the fighting fund.

The exact format of the concert has yet to be worked out, a spokesman said, but there will be contributions from Corrie PS pupils, former pupils, parents and supporters.

Interest in the concert is already growing with people from others parts of the island offering to perform.

Corrie Primary School is one of four schools currently being considered for closure this year by North Ayrshire Council.

A petition against closing Corrie school has already been signed by at least 1,000 people.

NAC is looking at a plan to transfer pupils from Corrie and Sannox to Brodick Primary School.
