Brodick lights shine bright thanks to business support
Published:  21 December, 2007

The beautiful Christmas lights along the Brodick seafront are shining bright and it is all thanks to the contributions from 26 Arran businesses.

Secretary of Brodick Improvements Committee Harry Davidson said: ‘The response to our appeal for £5,000 for funds to repair and renew the Christmas illuminations on Brodick seafront comes to a magnificent total of £5,210.

‘Further money is still coming in as a result of the grand raffle which will be drawn at the New Year ceilidh for corporate hospitality at a Rangers Football Club home game or a Celtic Football Club home game. There is also the golf 4xball with hospitality at Dalmahoy Golf Club.’

Mr Davidson said that Ian Small repaired and re-erected the lights damaged in the recent gale.

‘We hope the weather will behave,’ added Mr Davidson, ‘certainly until January 6 at least. Brodick Improvements Committee very much appreciates the generosity shown by all contributors.’
