University honour for Arran man

At the age of 22 not only has David Weir from Machrie completed the route of the gruelling Tour de France cycle race, but he has also been honoured by his university for his work during the past year.
David recently received the University of Glasgow Engineers’ Society Medal and Prize for the academic year 2006-2007.
He graduated with a Master of Engineering with first class honours.
In the summer David completed the route of the world’s most famous cycle race through France, raising almost £1,000 for Christian Aid.
