Christmas fayre fever hits Arran
Published:  01 December, 2007

Christmas fayre fever has hit Arran as the Season of Peace and Goodwill draws ever closer.

Last weekend it was the turn of Friends of Lochranza Kirk as they searched for bric-a-brac, spent hours baking and prepared lots of festive treats for customers.

There was a well-stocked bottle stall with plenty of prizes. Second-hand books were piled high on a table and Marion Gentleman sold a lovely selection of festive table decorations.

Lochranza always provide a lovely afternoon tea, too, with plenty of scones and cakes to be enjoyed by the large crowd.

All the money raised was for the Friends of Lochranza Church fund.

This weekend offers the following: Saturday December 1: Shiskine Primary School Christmas Fayre, 10.30am; St Bride’s Christmas Fayre, Brodick Church Hall, 2pm-4pm; Whiting Bay Christmas Fayre, also from 2pm-4pm, village hall: Sunday December 2: Hospital Supporters League Christmas Fayre, 2pm-4pm, Lamlash hall.
