Arran pool league ready
Published:  12 October, 2007

The Arran Pool League starts again at the end of this month despite fears that there wouldn’t be enough teams.

Chairman of the league Ross MacKay said: ‘It is a lot better than we thought. Initially there were worries that we might not have enough teams but luckily we still have eight teams, the same number as last year.’

Since the pool season ended in April a number of changes have taken place.

Due to the closure of the Lagg Hotel’s public bar, the Lagg team were forced to find somewhere else to play. After much deliberation it was decided that their home games would be played in Kilmory Village Hall.

Due to a number of changes at the Breadalbane, this team have relocated and will now be called Kildonan Hotel. There are no longer teams from The Aldersyde or the PHT in Lamlash.

Ross said: ‘The first games of the season will begin on October 25. The eight teams are Bar Eden, Cameronia, Corrie, Catacol, Drift Inn, the McLaren, Kildonan Hotel and Lagg.’
