History of the Banner
'The Arran Banner is the local newspaper for the Isle of Arran, Scotland.
Founded in 1973, the Arran Banner was independently owned, produced and printed on the Island until it became part of the Wyvex Media Group in 2003.
News and features are still gathered by a dedicated, island-based team, whilst our parent company now handles printing and subscriptions. With the spotlight firmly on Arran-based news, and featuring a wide variety of stories with an Arran connection, The Arran Banner is essential reading for islanders and visitors alike.
As well as news and a lively letters page, regular features include a weekly sports round up from around the Island, up to the minute 'What's On' listings and property, recruitment and classified advertising with a local focus. You'll find all Arran life in the Banner!'
