For the 12th year running, members of the Scottish Hawking Club made their annual pilgrimage to Arran last week.
Local hawkers Ian Struthers and Murray Boal once again entertained the group, and Ian said afterwards: ‘On behalf of Murray and I can I give a big thank you to the Arran farmers who made last week’s visit to the island possible. The sun shone and we enjoyed many spectacular flights. ‘
The photo shows Douglas Thompson of Penicuik with his female Red Tail, the bird is 25 years old and a ‘credit to his good management’.
