On Saturday 22 September 2012 the Arran branch of the Scottish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals held a collection at the Brodick Co-op as part of Animal Week.
The sum of £549 was raised for the essential work of the society.
In the last year there have been 10 visits to the island by SSPCA inspectors in response to reports by concerned residents.
