The Auchrannie Resort in Brodick has beaten off hundreds of competitors to be named Scotland’s Hotel of the Year at the Scottish Entertainment Guide Awards 2012.
Three of the Auchrannie’s staff travelled to the awards at the Thistle Hotel,Glasgow on Sunday night but they had no idea inclination of a win until the very end of the night.
Gordon Hay of the Auchrannie said the staff were delighted to have won.
He said:‘It came as a really big surprise as we were pretty sure we weren’t going to win.
‘We were up against Blythswood Square and Hotel Indigo in Glasgow and really didn’t think we had a hope.
‘So when we heard that Auchrannie were the winners we were absolutely over-the-moon.’
