IT will be a first-time trip to Arran for Southend resident Susan Davies,this month’s competition winner who picked up the prize of a two-night bed and breakfast stay at the Auchrannie Spa Resort.
To win,Susan had to collect two tokens from consecutive editions of this newspaper,then answer a simple question.
She said not only was it the first time she would be going to Arran,it was also the first time she could remember having entered a competition at all.
Nothing like beginners’ luck Susan! She said:‘My husband promised to take me to Arran last year. We left it to the last minute and then something cropped up. I thought this would be a great way to get to Arran and so it’s proved.
‘I’m very much looking forward to staying at the Auchrannie Spa Resort and seeing the island.’
