Youngsters from all across Arran have joined children in more than 100 countries in celebrating a love of books.
Thursday 1 March was World Book Day and schools across the globe – and even closer to home – took part in events to help children to enjoy the written world.
Many schools took part by encouraging their pupils to dress as book characters for the day and school staff joined in with the fun too.
Now in its 15th year, World Book Day aims to encourage children to explore the pleasures of books and reading.
