Arran lifeboat crew and Arran coastguards were called out on Wednesday January 18 2012 at 2.20pm to search for a man feared missing overboard from a yacht in the Kilbrannan Sound.
The yacht had been moored on the Lochranza pontoon for four days before the lone sailor set off after lunchtime on Wednesday.
Clyde Coastguard watch manager Graeme Watters said:‘Our teams have been searching in difficult conditions,but we have not been able to find any sign of the missing man.’
The search was suspended until first light Thursday,January 19.
