The life and times of Scotland’s national bard Robert Burns is widely celebrated on Arran around 25 January, the time of his birth 253 years ago.

This year will be no different, with five separate Burns Suppers already advertised in last week’s Banner.

The long-established Lamlash Burns Club hold their event at Lamlash Golf Clubhouse on Saturday 21 January. Wednesday 25 January sees Pirnmill Primary schoolchildren holding a Burns Supper in Lochranza Hall, while on the same night the Arran Guerrilla Supper Club has a ‘Burns night with a Twist’ at a secret location.

The famous Lochranza Burns Supper will be in the village hall on Saturday 28 January, and you can taste ‘A wee bit of Burns’ at the Kinloch Hotel on the same evening.
