Emergency services, doctors and nurses from Arran took part in a major exercise on Sunday at different points across the island.
Exercise Alliance was organised by the Arran Resilience initiative and simulated a situation where several emergencies happened at the same time.
From reports of injured mountain bikers in Glen to a road accident in North Sannox as well as a man overboard off the shore at Corriegills, during which the man on board also developed a heart attack – the emergency crews were kept very busy.
Dr David Hogg,co-ordinator of Arran Resilience said:‘The day required a lot of planning by all our teams, and I am so pleased that the day was deemed a success.
‘We learned a lot about how we can improve our response to multiple and major incidents, but overall the day was a reassuring demonstration that we have committed and skilled teams here on Arran.’
